Volodymyr Lytvyn, Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, believes that the Annual Address on the Domestic and Foreign Situation of Ukraine confirms the intention of the authorities to implement comprehensive reforms and launch a public dialogue.
Volodymyr Lytvyn, Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, made this statement in Belgrade (the Republic of Serbia).
V.Lytvyn reminded that President of Ukraine V.Yanukovych will deliver the Annual Address on the Domestic and Foreign Situation of Ukraine in the Parliament on April 7. "People will get a powerful impulse from the Address meaning that Ukraine has stepped on the track of comprehensives reforms," he stated.
V.Lytvyn supposes that the Annual Address will foster public dialogue concerning reforms. "People should see the stages of innovations, realize the inevitability of these moves, and understand their results for every person," he stressed. The Head of the Parliament called for considering the global situation and "work against the clock, as we have no right for mistake."
The Head of the Parliament stressed that all transformations should be democratic.
The Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine believes that the Head of State will dwell upon the common logic and approaches, strategy and practical actions in the reforms of the authorities.
V.Lytvyn informed about the initiatives concerning amending of the Constitution. "Although the constitutional reform has been outlined, this topic should not be pressed," stated the Head of the Parliament. He admitted that more urgent economic issues shall be settled. "If political matters are pushed forward, economic issues might be neglected," he stressed.
"Work should be sensible and thorough," he summed up.
